Transport Worker in Healthcare Materials

As a Transport Worker in Healthcare Materials, you will be a key person in ensuring that healthcare at Sahlgrenska runs smoothly – you ensure that the right materials are in the right place, at the right time.

We are now looking for two new colleagues to cover a study leave and a parental leave for 6 months. Welcome with your application by February 18!

Job Description

In the role of Transport Worker within the area of Healthcare Materials (MiV) at Sahlgrenska, you will supply hospital wards and outpatient clinics with consumables. It is a social job where you meet many new people daily and have close contact with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.

Your tasks as a transport worker include:

  • ordering, receiving, and unpacking materials
  • restocking consumables and textiles at customer locations
  • reporting and following up on delivery discrepancies and troubleshooting deliveries through phone contact with our suppliers

Driving a forklift may occur as needed, but your primary task is to work with the above-mentioned responsibilities within material supply. The work is scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday. Weekend work may occur during holidays and on public holidays.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is skilled at building good relationships with customers and colleagues through a positive attitude. You are responsible, meticulous, and cooperative. You are loyal to your assignment and show interest, willingness, and commitment to performing a good job. You have a completed high school education, good IT skills, and experience working in digital systems. You communicate fluently in Swedish and can easily engage in dialogue with colleagues and follow written and verbal work instructions.

Since you will be in motion for the majority of your workday, it is important that you have the physical capacity to walk and stand throughout the workday, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

Previous experience in warehouse and storage operations is advantageous for the position, as is having a forklift license.

About Internal Logistics

Internal Logistics operates at the region's largest hospital and is responsible for ensuring that important flows run smoothly – everything from laundry, medications, and materials to mail, aids, sterile surgical equipment, and waste. A total of about 230 employees work within this area.

One of our prioritized initiatives is Material Supply in Healthcare (MiV), which is part of the region's logistics and supply program. The purpose of MiV is to develop and streamline material supply within healthcare. Through this, we can reduce costs for material handling, free up more time for healthcare staff, and strengthen preparedness. As part of the team in Internal Logistics, you contribute to ensuring that healthcare in Västra Götaland operates safely and efficiently – every day.

Other Information

The positions are two temporary contracts for 6 months each, with a possibility of extension. Selection and interviews may occur before the application deadline. Questions are handled by the recruiting manager Christina Mauritzon.
